University of KwaZulu-Natal South Africa
The University of KwaZulu-Natal is the largest residential university in South Africa with over 40,000 students. A number of cooperative ventures have been realised between this University and the University of Bayreuth, and they are still going on in the fields of religious studies, literature and anthropology. The choice of the University of KwaZulu-Natal is connected with its scholarly quality although it has been disadvantaged under the apartheid regime. The close cooperation with BIGSAS will assist the University of KwaZulu-Natal to further achieve its due place in the academic landscape of South Africa.
