University of Bayreuth African Studies Working Papers
The “University of Bayreuth African Studies Working Papers” published by the IAS report on current work that is being carried out within the framework of the Bayreuth African Studies and its cooperation network. The working papers usually present work in progress and aim to stimulate discussion and feedback.
We cordially invite IAS members and scientists from the University of Bayreuth, their guests and cooperation partners to present empirical studies, theoretical work and ongoing research in the series. In addition, excellent bachelor and master theses are published on recommendation.
All contributions go through an internal review process at the University of Bayreuth. Contributions can be submitted to the

Since 2005, this series publishes research papers in the field of African studies at the University of Bayreuth. These working papers give insights into ongoing research and completed projects. The topics thereof include research reports, outstanding theses and works in progress from members of the University of Bayreuth and partners of the IAS. Because of the growth of the field of African studies at the University of Bayreuth, additional subseries of the Working papers were established specifically for scholars who operate under the subsections of the IAS (Africa Multiple connects, Academy reflects and BIGSASworks!). In the main working papers series, research in the field of African studies at the University of Bayreuth and its cooperation partners who are not affiliated with the subsections will continue to be published. ...more

This series offers members and guests of the Africa Multiple Cluster of Excellence the opportunity to provide insight into their current research and to put it up for discussion. The contributions deal with the core concepts of the cluster (“multiplicity”, “relationality”, and “reflexivity”), the research within the Research Sections and Africa Cluster Centres (ACC), and the discussions in the Knowledge Lab.
