Personal Information
Since 26 June 2026, I have been the Academic Coordinator of the Institute of African Studies at the University of Bayreuth. My interests lie in culture and cultural diplomacy, science communication, public outreach and science policy, and transnational and transcultural cooperation. In my work, I combine regional expertise, academic proficiency and artistic passion.
As an academic, I am interested not only in the production of knowledge, but also in how it can best be shared and disseminated, along with combining artistic, traditional academic and curatorial research methods and approaches.
I hold a BA in Area Studies Asia/Africa and a MA in African Studies from Humboldt University of Berlin, where I also defended my PhD in February 2026, titled „New Dynamics in the Cultural Field of Dar es Salaam: A Comparative Case Study of the Confucius Institute and the Goethe Institute in Tanzania”.
