Call for Papers: 12th Annual Indiana University International Conference on Africa
Indiana University's Graduate Students in African Studies (GSAS) proudly presents the 12th Annual Indiana University International Conference on Africa. This pivotal event aims to delve into the theme "Africa. Reflect," by aligning with the African Union's AGENDA 2063, a comprehensive strategy to elevate Africa as a global powerhouse. The conference brings together scholars, students, artists and global enthusiasts who are passionate about Africa's future trajectory.
Conference Overview: The African continent is on a trajectory of transformation, reflecting growth, innovation, and dynamic cultural and historical legacies. With an increasing focus on inclusive development, regional integration, and sustainable growth, this conference invites submissions that explore Africa's multifaceted journey towards a prosperous future.
Presentations
- Papers: Oral presentations of research papers (15 mins)
- Posters: Posters to show your research
- Lecture Demonstrations: Presentations of research in creative activity (30 mins)
- Panels: Lead discussion sessions on a timely topic (50 mins)
Submission Guidelines
- Proposals/ abstracts: 250 - 300 words
- Include title of submission
- Do not include the name(s) of the authors on the proposal
- For creative activity, include a link to a sample of your solo or group work e.g. a link to a high quality YouTube or Vimeo video for performing artists
- Submit the proposal in pdf format
Publication Opportunity: Select articles presented at the conference will undergo peer review for potential publication in the prestigious Africa Today journal.
