Overview

The IAS congratulates Dr. Hanza Diman on the award of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany!

Dr. Hanza Diman is an alumnus of the University of Bayreuth (UBT) and former Junior Fellow of the Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies (BIGSAS). He earned his master's degree and doctorate in African history from the University of Bayreuth. He receives the award for his tireless efforts in communicating knowledge about the African continent in Germany: Among other things, he is a founding member and former chairman of Model African Union e.V. Bayreuth as well as coordinator of the Afrika@School project.
